Medical Devices in Psychiatry: Cleared for Takeoff and Available Now

In this presentation we will review a number of different medical devices that are currently cleared by the FDA for use in psychiatric practice as well as discuss what it means for a device to be "FDA cleared" in terms of patient informed consent and reimbursement. We will be discussing SAINT TMS, eTNS for ADHD, a self-neuromodulation neurofeedback device for PTSD and a digital therapeutic for nightmares. Participants will gain an appreciation for how these devices could be used with patients they are working with and how barriers to reimbursement can limit access when devices first come to market.
