2020 Global Psychiatry Seminar, October 27, 2020
The NYCPS Minority Affairs Committee held its fourth annual Global Psychiatry Seminar on October 27, 2020. The seminar featured speakers Dr. Ludwing Florez-Salamanca and Dr. Shervin Shadianloo.



2020 Virtual Annual Meeting hosted by the New York County Psychiatric Society & the Colorado Psychiatric Society, May 16, 2020
The New York County Psychiatric Society and the Colorado Psychiatric Society held a joint virtual Annual Meeting on May 16, 2020. The evening began with an opening session featuring an interview between New York Times Op-Editor Dr. Richard A. Friedman, and comedian Gary Gulman of HBO's The Great Depresh.

The second part of the evening featured a live presentation by President of the American Medical Association (AMA), Dr. Patrice Harris. She discussed the AMA’s multi-faceted response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including specific ways of responding to the mental health needs of physicians and the public during this time of crisis.



PsychSummit: COVID-19, April 22, 2020
On April 22, 2020 the New York County Psychiatric Society and the Colorado Psychiatric Society held a PsychSummit event on COVID-19. The event includes an interview with APA President Bruce J. Schwartz, MD, on his experiences at the epicenter of COVID-19 in NYC, takeaways for psychiatrists around the country, and glimpses into the lives of NYC psychiatrists during the pandemic. PsychSummit is a partnership between the Colorado Psychiatric Society and the New York County Psychiatric Society. From the beginning, it has been a VIRTUAL INTERACTIVE conference designed to bring together psychiatrists from across the country (and beyond) to discuss some of the most pressing issues the profession faces.
