Dismantling Racism: Building Anti-Racist Psychiatrists Series 4
Dismantling Racism in Our Health System: The Time is Now

This event is part of our monthly series, Dismantling Racism: Building Anti-Racist Psychiatrists, helping to bring awareness, education, reflection, and empathy to build a community of anti-racist psychiatrists.

Join us for our fourth installment, Dismantling Racism in Our Health System: The Time is Now, featuring speaker Kamini Doobay, M.D., MS. During this workshop, we will describe the characteristics of White Supremacy that drive structural and individual racism within medicine, assess the available evidence and historical frameworks underlying common medical practices that contribute to bias and racism in clinical practice, and discuss the principles needed for both individual and institutional anti-racist transformation.

We intend for this to be a safe space to collectively share our complex thoughts and emotions surrounding these topics and brainstorm ways we can come together to support each other, colleagues, patients, and the community at large. We hope to see you there!
